Climbers Balm is not about Bees Wax, we're offering you a much less greasy alternative, one that absorbs a lot quicker. Bare in mind you only need use a little at a time, just apply it to the areas that need it. Climbers Balm is all about the special herbs we use. Each and every pot of Sypeland Climber's Balm contains the following ingredients;
- Marigold Oil. Marigold is above all a remedy for the skin and provides effective treatment for most minor skin problems including cuts and grazes, inflamed skin, minor burns and sunburn.
- Comfrey Oil. Comfrey has been used for thousands of years and is also known as "Knitbone" as it promotes the healing of bruises, sprains and fractures. The combination of tannins and mucilage also helps soothe bruises and grazes.
- St Johns Wort. This red infused oil stimulates tissue repair and is ideal for climbers' grazes and cut hands. It is also thought to reduce nerve pain.
- Tea Tree Oil. First researched in Australia in 1923, tea tree oil's antiseptic properties are well established and can be applied to insect bites and stings as well as wounds. It is also effective at treating fungal infections.
- Lavender Oil. Lavender essential oil has strong antiseptic properties and really helps in the treatment of wounds, sores and grazes. It may also relieve pain and inflammation and help with tense muscles.
- Myrrh Oil. Myrrh has strongly astringent and antiseptic actions and is very useful in treating inflamed skin.
- Clove Oil. In 1994 Argentinian research showed clove essential oil to be strongly antibacterial. It also has strong anaesthetic properties that help with localised nerve pain.
The balm also contains a variety of base oils which help to nourish and moisturise the skin. These oils are from coconut, almond, sunflower and cocoa.
